Course Overview:
Advance Placement World History is a challenging course that is structures around the investigation of selected themes woven into key concepts covering distinct chronological time periods. AP World History is equivalent to an introductory college survey course and is challenging. The course requires students to go beyond rote memorization.
The course has a three-fold purpose:
1. To prepare students for successful placement into higher-level college and university history courses.
2. To develop skills of analysis and thinking in order to prepare students for success in the 21st century.
3. Finally, it is the intent of this class to make the learning of world history an enjoyable and interesting experience.
